INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL
 

• New applicants who have not received funding from vLS/RR in the last two years should download and complete the NEW APPLICATION template listed above. 

• Applicants who have been funded by vLS/RR in the last two years should download and complete the RENEWAL APPLICATION template listed above. 

• Grantees who have completed their year of funding, but do not plan to submit a Renewal Request, should download and complete YEAR-END REPORT template listed above.  Or you may call Gail Shuster at 415-512-0500 and request  a Year-End Report Template. You may email the completed year-end report to gshuster@vlsrr.org.

• Provide a current roster of the organization's Board of Directors;

• Attach an organization chart or a description of how the organization is managed;

• Include the organization's documentation of tax exempt status;

• Provide all fiscal and budget information listed below:

1. The organization’s projected revenue and expense budget for the fiscal year in which funding is requested;
2. If applicable, an estimated project revenue and expense budget for the fiscal year in which funding is requested;
3. A copy of the previous fiscal year's organizational expenditure report, listing all revenue sources;
4. All organization budgets and project budgets must specify government, corporate, and foundation funders by name. Please, no acronyms. Indicate whether funds are committed (c) or pending (p). It is helpful to report the list of funders on a separate page.

Proposal Style:  readability and appealing presentation is very important. Your proposal will be read by each of vLS/RR's five Board Members.

• Cover letter is optional, but should not exceed one page;

• Provide only one copy of the proposal;

• The proposal must be printed on 8 1/2 x 11-inch paper;

• The proposal must be easy to read, at least 12pt. font size and normal size margins;

• No 2-sided pages;

• No delivery that requires a signature;

• No videos, audiotapes, CDs.
